In 1978 KEC started manufacturing electronic products. A separate unit at Mysore was started in 1980. This unit offers process industries, customized packages in terms of motors and drives which results in higher productivity, energy saving and greatly reduced down time.
KEC's electronic products have been approved by major consultants like Engineers India Ltd., M.N. Dastur & Co., R Singh, Avant Garde, and Entech Consultancy. A large roster of awards and recognition like Best Innovative Product for Digital DC Drive by IEEMA at the Elecrama exhibition and the National Award for R&D from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, India , bear testimony to the high standard of product quality and reliability maintained.
The product range include DC Drives in collaboration with Thorn EMI, UK, in a range from 2.7 KW to 2.5 MW which find intensive applications in core process industries like sugar, steel paper, cement, rubber, material handling & test rigs. They find a ready export market in Vietnam , Nepal , Bangladesh , Pakistan , Thailand , Lebanon , South Africa and other African Countries.
The AC Drives manufactured in collaboration with Fuji Electric Co. Japan range from 0.5kW to 2800kW and are used in plastic, textile and railways for energy saving applications and are exported to Indonesia , Malaysia & Philippines .
The UPS in collaboration with Toshiba Co. Ltd, Japan in a range from 0.5kVA to 200kVA find extensive application in supplying continuous and conditioned power to all critical equipment in banking, insurance, IT & medical fields.
The Battery chargers are necessarily thyristorised chargers available in the range 15 Amps to 500 Amps, any voltage range. Different topologies like Float, Boost, Float cum Boost, Float and Boost, Redundancy in chargers etc can be supplied, as required. We have supplied these chargers extensively to the sectors such as Indian railways, Nuclear Power corporation, Electricity Boards, Medical Laboratories, Air Force, Water Authority, Power Grid corporation, Mining industries etc.
